The GCE Advanced Level is written by Upper Sixth students across Cameroon. Preparation begins in Lower Sixth, making it a demanding two-year academic journey. With over 18 subjects spanning Science and Arts streams, the A Level is the gateway to universities and professional careers across Africa and beyond.

Every GCE Advanced Level subject follows a structured three-paper format, testing breadth of knowledge and depth of understanding across two years of study.
Paper 1 — Multiple Choice Questions. 50 questions in 1 hour 30 minutes. Tests broad knowledge uniformly across the entire syllabus. Each correct answer scores 1 mark with no negative marking.
Paper 2 — Structured Questions. Duration varies by subject (2h 30min to 3h). Tests understanding, analysis, and application through short-answer and extended written responses worth higher marks.
Paper 3 — Practical or Written. Sciences (Chemistry, Physics, Biology, Computer Science, ICT): supervised laboratory or computer practical. All other subjects: extended written essay or structured response paper.
Chemistry (0715), Physics (0780), Biology (0710), Computer Science (0795), ICT (0796). Paper 3 is a hands-on laboratory or computer practical session.
